The Owlets and Hoot Owls had a pumpkin hunt last week. First, they searched for the pumpkins with their names on the bottom on the playground.
Then they had a party with delicious Halloween snacks.
Finally, the Hoot Owls carved their class pumpkin.
It was a fun day!
Every Wednesday throughout the school year, the Owlets and their 6th grade buddies will get together to play, go on walks, read and do art projects. Both the Owlets and 6th graders look forward to this special time together every week.
On Thursday, the Owlets visited the fire station in Moraga, Station 41. They had a lot of fun climbing in the fire truck and seeing where the fire fighters live when they are working their 48 hour shifts.
It was a great way to end their September theme, My Community and Me!
Every Thursday throughout the school year, the Owlets and 6th graders got together to do art activities, go on nature walks, read books or play outdoor games together. To celebrate the last meeting yesterday, the students painted frames for their special buddy pictures. The Owlets loved having their big buddies and the 6th graders loved having their little buddies.
The Owlets visit the Science Lab every Friday during the month of April.
Last Friday, they learnt about microscopes and examined different specimens. They all agreed it was a a fun lesson!
The Owlet class has been incorporating STEM-based learning into their curriculum. We took advantage of the recent sunshine and made shadow drawings!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Saklan! We couldn’t catch the leprechaun, but at least he left some gold and sweets behind.

For the month of January the Owlets had fun learning about Transportation. To end the month, they brought in their own modes of transportation, bikes and scooters, to ride around our yard. It was a lot of fun!
Yesterday the preschoolers – fifth graders participated in Moving Up Day!
The students and teachers alike were buzzing with excitement. Questions, stories, projects, and enthusiasm filled each classroom. Please ask the children all about it!
