On Thursday, as part of their community unit, Kindergartners went to Fire Station 41 to meet with the firefighters. They showed the students how they live and the many ways they help them in the community.

In Kindergarten this week, we started our Community Helpers unit by a visit from our local Police Officer, Will Davis. He spent time with our Kindergartners and Hoot Owls, teaching us the many ways he helps to keep us safe.

We also were able to have a look in his vehicle and he gave us some good tips about staying safe at Halloween.

Last week, we finished our butterfly unit by setting free the butterflies that had been with us since they were tiny caterpillars. As scientists we have been predicting and recording our findings since these little friends arrived. Bye bye butterflies!

On Tuesday, Kindergartners continued their farm unit at the farm.

We collected our own eggs, brushed the pony, and saw many lovely farm animals, including Kevin the peacock and the fluffiest rabbit in the world!!!

This week Kindergarten went to the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek where we saw some truly amazing art that people created just by cutting! They definitely used their skills of perseverance to create such detailed works of art.

We then created our own art in their workshop and found out how truly talented our Kindergarten class is!

This week in Kindergarten we were very fortunate to be visited by Justin Kurup and his dog Mikko. We learnt about how the SPCA helps domestic animals and we also discovered we knew a lot about looking after dogs and cats!

The visit was lots of fun and included many wet kisses from Mikko.
