The Hoot Owl class has been learning about animals that live in and around ponds. After many art projects, books and songs, the Hoot Owls went on a field trip to Heather Farms in Walnut Creek. It was a fun day walking around the pond, having a picnic lunch, and playing on the playground.
There is something joyful about flying a kite on a beautiful Spring morning!
It was buddy time this week as the Hoot Owls and 4th grade worked on a project to honor our departed vets as well as our flag. Look for the red, white and blue on the board in the foyer.
April 14th is International Moment of Laughter Day. The Hoot Owl class, along with their parents, enjoyed many moments of laughter this morning. From dancing the “Tooty Ta,” to building with jelly beans and toothpicks, to making their mother an Easter bonnet, to giving their father a shave, our room was alive with laughter. Today, we will have fun!
During March, the Hoot Owls have been learning about sea life. This week the Hoot Owl class went on a field trip to Crab Cove in Alameda where they learned about some of the creatures found in San Francisco Bay. The children walked the beach during low tide and found many shells, seaweed and of course crabs. After a visit to the aquarium, we ended our field trip with a picnic and a game of tag!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Saklan! We couldn’t catch the leprechaun, but at least he left some gold and sweets behind.
