Parent Conferences
Please remember that next Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, March 23rd are Parent Conferences. Both days are NOON dismissals, but we do have extended day until 6PM. Please be sure to sign up for a conference time via Sign-up Genius. This is a great opportunity to check in with your child’s teacher about his/her progress.

Attention Volleyball Players!!!
Spring time is coming and that means it is time for volleyball! We are scheduling six games this year: two in April and four in May. Once the dates are confirmed, we will post the season. Any fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who would like to play are eligible. Just let Mr. Crabtree know.

Family Groups – Respect
Yesterday, our Family Groups met to work on the concept of Respect. Students worked together to brainstorm what respect looks like, then they worked together respectfully to build a marshmallow tower as high as possible.
Thank you to our 7th and 8th grade students for being great role models in leading the rest of our community!

International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. Internationally, purple is a color symbolizing women.
In support and honor of International Women’s Day, we are asking all students to wear purple next Friday, March 16th. Thank you!

MATHCOUNTS
Last year we started the first ever Saklan MATHCOUNTS competition team and it was back by popular demand this year! The MATHCOUNTS Competition Series is a national program that provides students the opportunity to compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers. Created in 1983, it is the longest-running MATHCOUNTS program and is open to all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.
The team is open to any middle school student who wants to work on interesting and challenging problems with other math-letes. Saklan’s team met every Monday and just finished the MATHCOUNTS Regional Competition last weekend!
